Hebrews 13:4
"Marriage is honorable,
Let us keep it so." |
| |
|
Like the spotted owl, marriage should be
placed on the endangered species list:
Marriage is dishonored every time someone
files divorce papers.
Marriage is dishonored every time a spouse is abused
physically or emotionally.
Marriage is dishonored when same-sex marriage is promoted in
our state courts and legislatures.
Marriage is dishonored by the prevalence of adultery in our
culture.
Marriage is dishonored by the testimony of so many bad
marriages.
Marriage is dishonored by so few role models of good
marriage.
Marriage is dishonored when there is no intimacy in the
relationship between husband and wife.

One day recently, I
attended a 70th wedding anniversary celebration of a couple
who lives in Towne Lake.
It was a wonderful and happy
event. People banged their glasses with their spoon and
the couple kissed one another again and again. This
couple has followed Christ most of their lives. Even
after so many years and so many changes in their lives, there
is still a sweetness that stands out in their relationship.
Marriage was certainly honored that day and my prayer is
that
more good marriage testimonies will be discovered. |
